Man, 2022 was a relief, an awakening, a breath of fresh air if you will. I'm not going to lie, 2022 wasn't short of it's ups and downs but 2022 was a year of opportunity coming to fruition. It's weird to think about how my overall feelings of this past year has derived from 2021. Maybe if 2021 wasn't so horrible 2022 wouldn't have felt so sweet. Does happiness only come after misery and vice versa? ANYWAYS!! Enough with existential brain rot. 2022 solidified my greatest hopes that things will be okay. I don't mean amazing I just mean okay, in the middle, balanced. I think that is all anyone can strive for. 2022 was a year of learning so much more about myself and connecting with the people around me. It was a year of boundaries and learning to let go.
The year started off with a party and friends (as seen above). Most of the first few months looked the same. I saw Peach Pit and met some cool ladies in the crowd and spent lots of time enjoying being a dumb teenager.
I enjoyed my last few months as a Grade 12. Which, by the way, is the best year of high school. I enjoyed the new spring air, more concerts, prom and most importantly the prom after party. The whole experience felt very coming of age.
I then graduated high school and started the summer off with Pride which was the most fun. Trying to compile a summers worth of activities into two weeks as I anticipated leaving for the whole summer. These two weeks included going to concerts, Montreal for an extravagant Armenian wedding with my senile grandmother and my crazy mother and finally retreating to Olivia's Cottage.
And of course Berklee. </3
Then the Cape
Coming home finally to finish off the summer with friends and also say a temporary goodbye to those leaving for Uni. I also saw my all time favourite artist Father John Misty!
Visiting New York for a multi-purpose trip of visiting friends and my boyfriend, seeing my cousins, having a "girls trip" and auditioning for Berklee College. My parent's friend also got me tickets to the dress rehearsal of Ohio State Murders starring Audra McDonald!
Finally closing off the year with a reunion with my boyfriend and friends <3
